Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 

 

DFARS is used by the Department of Defense (DoD) to control the melting and manufacturing sources of Specialty Metals to be from the United States or qualifying countries. Per clause 252.225.7012, qualifying countries include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

   Stainless Steel: Compliant
  Titanium: Compliant
  Nickel Alloys (Monel, Inconel): Compliant
  4140 Alloys: Compliant
  Carbon Steel: Exempt
  Aluminum: Exempt
  Red Metals (Copper,Brass,Bronze): Exempt
  Nylon: Exempt
  Teflon: Exempt
