Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 

 

DFARS is used by the Department of Defense (DoD) to control the melting and manufacturing sources of Specialty Metals to be from the United States or qualifying countries. Per clause 252.225.7012, qualifying countries include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

ï‚·    Titanium: Compliant
ï‚·    Nickel Alloys (Monel, Inconel): Compliant
ï‚·    4140 Alloys: Compliant
ï‚·    Carbon Steel: Exempt
ï‚·    Aluminum: Exempt
ï‚·    Red Metals (Copper,Brass,Bronze): Exempt
ï‚·    Nylon: Exempt
ï‚·    Teflon: Exempt

Material Test Reports are available for all traceable materials to obtain the country of melt and manufacture information. Outsourced items need to be determined on a case-by-case basis. For more information, please visit:
